Long Lines Wireless Association
The Long Lines Wireless Association is on the air. It has been a long uphill battle, but we have finally prevailed! Power is on at the site, which is a much appreciated thing. The sub panel is installed and going, which provides power to the west side of the building. The group recently built a small room in the west side to house the repeater(s). It is well insulated which will help keep them warm during the cold months. Also, we have put EchoLink on the 440 repeater and it is working great, try it out sometime. Check back for updates.

Welcome to LLWA
On December 23rd, 2006, a group of local amateurs met at the new repeater site to discuss numerous things, including a new club. The group decided on Long Lines repeater Group, but later changed to the Long Lines Wireless Association. The name is derived from the name of the AT&T network the tower was part of. The new club is obviously very new, but we have a bunch of ideas we would like to do in the next few years. This includes movinf a 440 repeater to the site, among many of possible repeater. Also, we would like to fix the interior of the building up and hold meeting and other club activites there. And if the funds allow it, we would like to put in a all band HF station, we plan to cover from 160M to 70CM! Check back in and I'll keep you posted! 73s
Captain, We Have POWER!!
That's right, we finally have power at the repeater site! We were able to ge the power turned on in time for field day, which was a big relief. We are now in the process of getting the sub panel installed and wired in. We are hoping to have this electric wrapped up by the end of the summer. As alway, thanks for your support and check back often for updates.
Repeater update
Well, it was a great adventure with 220, but after many attempts to get the repeater working right, the final PA went out of it. We have decided to scrap the whole 220 repeater project in pursuit of a better 440 system. We have moved the KG8FV repeater to the new site and it is working great. It operates on 442.150mhz and is currently in CSQ mode. The repeater is a GE mobile converted to repeater use. It puts out roughlt 12 watts, so it is kinda low profile for now. We are however looking to do a bit of upgrading to the system in the near future. I can't tell you more so you'll just have to come back for the updates :)

EchoLink
EchoLink is now available for everyone to use, you will need to transmit a PL of 88.5hz to access the link. The node number is 353296 and shows up as KG8FV-R on a computer. The repeater is set to pass DTMF tones directly to the link, so simply dial away. Here are some basic commands and tips to get you going. First make sure the repeater is not in use, which you already know. Dial "08" for the link status, which will return either "Not Connected" or will advise which links are connected. If no links are connected, simply dial the node number or short-cut number to connect. You must dial S-L-O-W for the link to pick up all the digits. when you are finished dial "#" to disconnect and ID. Thats all there is to it, pretty easy huh? --The world is at your fingertips with EchoLink on the KG8FV repeater!
